If you are a new mom, and struggling with changing the diaper of the baby, then this is the first question that pops up in your mind – in how many hours diapers should be changed?

That’s a significant question to discuss, you know why?

Because the diaper is in direct contact with the baby’s skin, and it can easily affect the baby’s skin and can result in serious issues such as bladder infection. Hence, you have to be very specific when it comes to diaper changing of the baby.

For now, our main focus is the duration of the diaper. Let’s see, for how long your baby should wear diapers.

After How Many Hours Diaper should be Changed?

The duration of wearing the diaper depends on the type of diaper you are using. For instance, cloth diaper has less absorbency, however, disposable diapers have high absorbency. But cloth diapers are safer than disposable ones.

Well, to be precise, you should change the diaper of the baby every 2-3 hours.

To be noted, if your baby has pooped in the diaper either at night or day, you should change it right away without waiting for a second. Because it could result in infections.

Moreover, if your baby is sleeping peacefully and wet his diaper a bit, in that case, you can wait for a while. However, as I said, if he pooped, change it right now.

Conclusion

At last, I would say, instead of focusing on the duration of wearing the diaper, you should focus on how wet or whether your baby has pooped in it or not. Wearing a dirty diaper could be harmful to the baby’s skin. And result in cracked and dry, which is not good for the baby.

Well, to smoothen the baby’s skin you can use baby lotion, baby cream, baby massage oil, and more.
